2026 — Santé Québec Outaouais

In June 2026, the CISSS de l’Outaouais officially adopted the name Santé Québec Outaouais, marking its integration into a unified provincial network under a shared identity. This change aims to provide the public with a clear, consistent, and easily recognizable point of reference throughout Québec.

2024 — Integration into Santé Québec

On December 1, 2024, Québec’s integrated health and social services centres (CISSSs and CIUSSSs) became territorial institutions of Santé Québec. This milestone followed the official launch of Santé Québec’s operations on May 6, 2024.

2023 — Creation of Santé Québec

A new stage in the transformation of Québec’s health and social services network was reached. On December 13, 2023, the Act to make the health and social services system more effective (Bill 15) received Royal Assent. This legislation created Santé Québec to modernize the governance of Québec’s health and social services system.

2015 — Creation of the CISSS de l’Outaouais

On April 1, 2015, the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais was established through the integration of five Health and Social Services Centres (CSSSs)—Gatineau, Pontiac, des Collines, Vallée-de-la-Gatineau and Papineau—as well as the La RessourSe Regional Rehabilitation Centre, Pavillon du Parc, the Outaouais Addiction Rehabilitation Centre (CRDO), the Outaouais Youth Centres, and the Outaouais Health and Social Services Agency. This reorganization resulted from the reform of Québec’s health and social services network and the abolition of regional agencies.

Today

Building on the expertise, commitment and pride of its staff, physicians, midwives, volunteers and partners, Santé Québec Outaouais continues its mission to provide quality care and services while contributing to the improvement of the health and well-being of the Outaouais population.
