Specialized addiction rehabilitation services (12-17 years)
Specialized youth addiction rehabilitation services, with a harm reduction approach, are intended for adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 who have a substance use problem or who have a problematic use of the Internet and screens, as well as for significant members of their entourage.
Types of services offered:
- One-one-one and group meetings
- Motivational groups
- Leisure group not focused on Internet and screen use
- Group for significant family members
- Intensive rehabilitation service with accommodation
How do I access the services?
The adolescent or significant family member interested in receiving help can contact 811 option 2 or be referred by the school or a partner in the health and social services network. The unique referral form and the appropriate detection tools must be completed for each request for services.
Specialized addiction rehabilitation services are implemented following an assessment of the adolescent's Internet and screen use or the needs of a significant family member by the Guichet d'accès jeunesse.
Please note that following the needs assessment, the teenager must be willing to obtain services related to his/her addiction.
What should I expect?
The services offered are tailored and focused on the needs of the teenager and his or her entourage by taking charge of the consumption or problematic use of the Internet and screens. To that end, a tailored response plan is prepared jointly with the other network partners.
Where and when are services provided?
Outpatient services are offered throughout the Outaouais region through local service points, in schools and in the rehabilitation centers of the Direction des programmes jeunesse.
Intensive rehabilitation services with accommodation (including detoxification) are offered at the juvenile pavilion at 20 Pharand Street, Gatineau (Hull sector).
