Troubled youth and families

We offer psychosocial and psychological services for children aged 0 to 17 and to their parents facing personal, relationship or family problems, such as behavioural and self-esteem issues, adjustment difficulties, exposure to violence, etc.

How do I access the services?

Through a service request to Info-social (811).

What should I expect?

You will be assigned a professional who specializes in developing response plans based on the needs of the child and his/her family.

Depending on the needs and objectives identified, the professional will determine whether or not services should be provided directly to children, only to parents, or in certain cases, to the family as a whole. During the monitoring, you may be referred to other organizations and/or professionals, or work in partnership with them.

Monitoring is usually done over a period of about 6 months, and will include 10 to 15 one-hour meetings.
Given that each family has unique needs, the problems may possibly be resolved within a shorter timeframe; on the other hand, it could take longer to arrive at a solution for some families.

Where and when are the services provided?

The services are offered at home, at CLSCs or at school, usually at a rate of one meeting every two weeks, as needed.
