Dermatology

The dermatology outpatient clinic specializes in the investigation and treatment of suspected or diagnosed pathologies of the skin. It provides consultation services, biopsies, allergy testing and follow-ups.

How do I access the services?

The unit provides care for adult and pediatric patients who meet certain predetermined criteria.

A consultation request must be sent by the referring physician. The request will be assigned a priority timeframe.

A secretary from the outpatient clinic will contact you to schedule an appointment.

What to expect?

  • An appointment made by telephone and registration with the clinic’s secretary
  • A meeting with the specialist
  • Complete assessment and physical examination
  • Treatment with liquid nitrogen, possible biopsy
  • Length of appointment: approximately 20 minutes
  • For a biopsy, allow an extra 10 minutes.
  • For allergy tests, you must plan another appointment with the specialist 72 hours after the test.

Follow-up wound care is provided at local community service centres (CLSCs).
