Dermatology
The dermatology outpatient clinic specializes in the investigation and treatment of suspected or diagnosed pathologies of the skin. It provides consultation services, biopsies, allergy testing and follow-ups.
How do I access the services?
The unit provides care for adult and pediatric patients who meet certain predetermined criteria.
A consultation request must be sent by the referring physician. The request will be assigned a priority timeframe.
A secretary from the outpatient clinic will contact you to schedule an appointment.
What to expect?
- An appointment made by telephone and registration with the clinic’s secretary
- A meeting with the specialist
- Complete assessment and physical examination
- Treatment with liquid nitrogen, possible biopsy
- Length of appointment: approximately 20 minutes
- For a biopsy, allow an extra 10 minutes.
- For allergy tests, you must plan another appointment with the specialist 72 hours after the test.
Follow-up wound care is provided at local community service centres (CLSCs).
