Nephrology

The nephrology department specializes in providing care for adult patients suffering from kidney failure. The hemodialysis department has modern and efficient technical equipment at the Pavillon Desjardins of Hull Hospital.

Neighbourhood hospital hemodialysis services are also provided via two satellite units in the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau area (Maniwaki Hospital) and at the Papineau Hospital.

How do I access the services?

Services are accessed by a consultation request from emergency, from home, specialized clinics, outpatient clinics, intake and referral, hemodialysis, other floors, other hospitals.

Who will I be dealing with?

The on-site interdisciplinary team consists of:

  • Nurses and nursing assistants
  • A physician
  • Specialists (nephrologist, cardiologist, internal medicine, community medicine)
  • A nutritionist
  • A porter
  • A patient service associate
  • A social worker

What to expect?

The members of the interdisciplinary team, with their complementary roles and responsibilities, work to provide you with coordinated safe, high quality care to help you return to your living environment as quickly and with as much independence as possible.

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
from 7:00 a.m. to 11:15 p.m.
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
On-call team for evenings,
weekends and statutory holidays.

Nocturnal hemodialysis, pre- and post-transplant
kidney failure clinic,
dialysis and peritoneal dialysis education
Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Papineau Hospital
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Maniwaki Hospital
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
