Trauma rehabilitation program

The program is open to all patients who have been hospitalized due to trauma, and their families.

  • The program’s objective is to help the patient recover, grow and maintain an optimal level of physical, functional, cognitive, emotional and social independence based on his or her potential for recovery.
  • The ultimate goal of rehabilitation is to reintegrate patients into their social environment and improve their quality of life.

Where are services provided?

The secondary regional trauma care centre is located at Hull Hospital. Services are provided following an admission for trauma.

What to expect?

Following a traumatic event, the user is treated by a multidisciplinary team. It assesses the person’s rehabilitation needs and provides him or her with the right services based on the situation.

Practitioners forming the multidisciplinary team are:

  • Pivot nurse
  • Social worker
  • Occupational therapist
  • Physiotherapist
  • Nutritionist
  • Neuropsychologist
  • Speech therapist
  • Physicians

Other professionals can be called upon as required.
